Just got an EDC from 1SKS. Great shopping experience and a great knife! I am surprised to see that the lock engagement is about 66 to 75%. Is this normal? At what rate will the bar wear causing engagement to approach 100%? Ithough most manufacturers aimed for a finished engagement of about 50%.

I'm really not obsessing, I'm just curious.

There is no magic number in my opinion.
Some companies set-up at 25% engagement because their lock surface may wear quickly (especIALLY NON-HARDENED LINER-LOCKS AND TITANIUM).

Since the EDC lock is hardened Stainless Steel, wear shouldnt be an issue. I like 100% engagement myself.

Also, because the lock bar is so large in ratio to the blade tang, it seems like it is over farther than is, but that is a good thing IMO.
You are obsessing! :)

Thanks, Anthony. I'll try not to worry. Is the lock bar (part of the frame) really hardened in any fashion?
