lock on benchmade shoki

Has anyone had any problems with their benchmade shoki lock not holding the blade open? I just purchased one and was surprised and disappointed to see that the lock failed with very little downward pressure. I'll probably send it back to benchmade to have it fixed,but I wonder if it is a design problem or a manufacturing problem.

Did you look at the lock engagement?

It might need to wear in a bit.

If the lock doesn't wear in, send it in to be repaired.

The lock looks like it engages the blade notch about 50%. I'll give it some more time to wear in though. Thanks for the idea.

I saw that same problem on a shokai in a store in OH. I was just lightly checking the lock and wow, it failed. I could have lost a finger! It was a bummer cause I wanted to buy that knife!
