about a year ago i asked what type knife to use. the reason for this question was because of my occupation. i am a brick mason, some times i have to run a cut off saw and talk about the dust, it can kill you if you don't protect yourself. well this dust gets all over you in your clothes, pockets you name it. i have carried lock back knives, liner lock knives. the problems was at the end of the day i could not get the knives to function properly. locks wouldn't lock, or knives would not open. these knives were spyderco's, cold steel, benchmade, and micro tech. i thought i would have to go to a fixed blade knife. i decided i would try a benchmade axis lock knife. i am very pleased. i use to have to clean my knives every night, no lube that only made it worse, too cleaning once a week. and the once a week cleaning is because i like it nice and clean for the weekend. i still think the other knives are great, but for me and a dirty work conditions i will pick the benchmade axis lock

Well perhaps by virtue of design, the Axis lock tolerates more debris collecting on the locking surfaces than other locks do.
Lockbacks can be occasionally jammed by debris and dust, and of course liners are no exception either.
Glad you find something that works for you.
