lock rock - are CRKs immune?

The recent question about sticky lock made me wonder about lock-rock. I know this is a problem for certain Strider models, but I've never seen the question come up on this forum. Anyone ever get lock-rock on their CRK?? Just wondering? (Please....any guys doing spine-whack testing need not reply......I'm talking under normal intelligent conditions).

I was just looking at my 25 and my newer model Umnum the other day and both of them I have the pivot screw loose enough you can rotate the entire pivot in the scales and both are rock solid. I could probably tighten the screw somewhat but when they were new they were really tight opening.

When I had a 25 it was the only knife that the pivot could be so loose that I could push it in and out and there was still zero blade play or lock rock. Truly amazing workmanship.

Used mine daily for a few years now... no play. Lock has moved from around 50% to 60%.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say immune but I would say highy highly unlikely. I've had Sebenzas for 14 years with almost zero problems and I've never had a problem that CRK couldn't fix.

Definitely not immune though not common. I have a 1996 small LH BG-42 Regular user that needed service a year or two ago because the lockup became loose. It was fixed quickly and for free by CRK.

No rock in the lock on any I've ever seen or owned, Bart

None of my Chris reeve knives have any sort of blade play or lock rock.

My other folders, can't say as much. Even if newer and more 'tank'.
