Lock rock?!

So I saw this test that seems to be all the rage online in the knife world where one can test their knife for lock rock. The action it puts on the blade looks just like what my knives are typically subjected to on a daily basis so it got me wondering if my knives would be able to stand up to the test. So I took the one in my pocket out and performed the test. Much to my dismay, it failed miserably. I'm glad I was able to find this so I can seek the proper remedy through warranty service.

I find a lot of lock backs can flex backwards when applying a heavy cutting force. It shouldn’t happen easily if it does the lock improperly fitted as per knife maker who wrote about it

Am I missing something here? The blade in the video moved so much, that I thought it was a slip joint. Before this thread, I thought lock rock was when the blade moved backwards when force was applied to the cutting edge. Anyway, I tried to wiggle the blade on my 110 and it didn't budge, so I think I'm good for now.

I just did the same test on my 2021 Forum knife and to my dismay the blade moves like it has no lock at all.
Off topic but how do you get a forum knife. I see guys with them but not sure where to buy from or what time of the year they do this. Maybe someone can better explain or send a link.

You get about a thousand productive posts in the area noted below. As you're doing that you'll hear more.

I just saw the video that is an improperly fitted and/or broken lock. A lock back is usually strong for hell. I know I used to abuse a whole lot of lock back knives as a kid and was shocked that even the cheapest locks with tiny sloppily ground nubs for blade locking notches would hold strong despite my deliberate attempts to cause lock failure. The mode in which most of them failed after too much abuse was backwards blade flex in opposite direction to closing.
