Yeah, that Tim Galyean guy ;) designed a good one in the JYD2. As I've said before you get the best of both frame lock and liner lock. My JYD2 has been put through some pretty rigorous testing and hard, general use, and I trust the lock.

does anybody know any site where i can learn about folders and how they are made and different parts.....i am new to all this and questions like this escape me....what's a frame lock .....liner lock...etc......ryan

Google, my friend. Or THIS Web site is pretty useful also. The "Search" button is your friend.

Lee,

The lock is .070"-.075" thick. Hope that helps.[/QUOTET

Tim thank you

That is the info i was looking for i am getting tired of the paper thin locks on a lot of knives that are out there you could lose a finger with one of those knives.

With a lock size of .070-.075 i will be able to use the jydll with no fear of it closing if i have to use it hard or abuse it a little to get the job done.
