I have a question about the lock strength. I remember Carlos wrote in one of his post addressing that the Ti-salsa only meets spyderco's "heavy-duty lock standard", which is 100 lbs*inch per inch. And spyderco's MBC standard is 200 lbs*inch per inch, and since lil'temperance is a MBC blade, I assume it passes this standard. This fact looks wierd to me, cause Ti Salsa's integral compression lock looks a lot tougher than the ordinary compression lock, can anyone tell me why it results in relatively lower strength?

Hi lreed. "Heavy duty" is over 100 inch lbs / inch. Actually the Ti Salsa broke at 192 inch lbs/inch. I guess you could say it was "MBC"? 20 inch lbs in the 500 inch lb range could be called a +- "tolerance" (4%).

Our tests are not a "selling" tool. They are our own way of making sure that our product continually is up to our own standards. The reliability that our customers experience as the result of our testing, is the "word of mouth" selling tool.

Hello Mr. Glesser, thanks for providing the specific data about the Ti Salsa. I have no doubt that Ti-salsa is a tough little animal, It is on my spyder-buy list of this year together with L'T.
I was just wondering how come it is not as strong as L'T. Is it because of material or design?

material differences. (eg; pin sizes & materials, blade thickesses & material, etc.)
