I retardedly lock tighted my leathermen pliers teeth together. I can open it but the pliers are glued shut. I used them while mounting a scope on my rifle and forgot to clean the gunk off. I can’t pop it open the handles just fold. Is there a chemical that will break it up so I can get it apart? It’s the Blue.

 for me!

Thanks

I'd probably give acetone a try. I've never done it, though, so YMMV.

Heat it, to loosen it up. Heat is generally what's recommended by the manufacturer, to soften it up. In this case, I don't think the pliers will be damaged if you just give the jaws a few seconds exposure to a flame from a lighter or something similar. If you have a heat gun, that might work also.

Here's an excerpt from Loctite's own 'Directions' page for the Loctite 242 (blue). Note the mention of 'methylene chloride', also:
(from page: http://www.loctiteproducts.com/p/t_lkr_blue/directions/Loctite-Threadlocker-Blue-242.htm )
[h=4]Cleanup[/h] Clean adhesive residue immediately with a damp cloth. Cured product can be removed with a combination of soaking in methylene chloride and mechanical abrasion such as a wire brush.

For disassembly, shear with standard hand tools and remove with methylene chloride. In rare instances where hand tools do not work because of excessive engagement length, apply localized heat to nut or bolt to approximately 482°F (250°C). Disassemble while hot.

OWE hit this one on the head.

Heat. Just warm it up with a heat gun (or very carefully with a lighter) and they'll pop right apart.
