"Lock Up" On My Hinderer

I don't really understand why lock up is described as "early". it seems to me that it's all really about the percentage of ovelap between the lock bar and the tang.

Anyway, that's unimportant. My question has to do with my new XM-18 3.5# Spanto. The lock up looked to be about 30% when I first got it. I flipped it hundreds of times and it seems to be a little over 50% now, which I am more comfortable with.

Is this normal and expected?

Yes that would be expected, not just with a Hinderer but with any framelock. IME a framelock will break into a sweet spot where it will stay for a long time.

Spot on - they start out super early and break in nicely. Nothing to worry about with a Hinderer at all.
