Good morning, and Happy Monday :barf:

I have decided to add a lockback to the collection and I wanted to ask the lockback vets what they thought I should go with. I don't fool around with cheaper cutlery and I NEVER buy anything made in China. I was searching around and stumbled upon two serious candidates: the Spyderco Native 5 in titanium, and the Lionsteel TM-1 in micarta. Which would you choose and why? Spyderco is made in the USA, quality materials, and looks gorgeous to boot. The Lionsteel is made from a single piece of micarta, seems thicker & stouter, but is made in Italy. Both are within the same price range and I can't afford both. Please let me know your thoughts!

Oh, and if there are any other truly epic lockbacks that I am missing...I am all ears. Thanks in advance!

A Buck 110 should be your first one.

Both that you have selected are very good knives. Of the two, if you prefer a beefier knife, the LionSteel. You will find the micarta to be more comfortable and grippier, esp. when wet, in hand during tasks.

If you prefer more of a dress up folder, the Spyderco. It may not be up for tougher tasks such as woodcraft or lawn work. The handles will be good for average pocket knife tasks and it's probably showier. It's more of a gentleman's folder.

The LionSteel is going to be "tougher." The Spyderco lighter and less in the pocket.
