Lockback redesign proposal

Well, here's an idea of mine. I love lockbacks!! They are ambidextrous, strong enough for most tasks we mortals use knives for and very simple and non problematic. Some people complain that you can release them if you have meaty hands and that you have to put your fingers in the path of the closing blade. So the redesign is done to answer these concerns. Check it out at the link below.

This may have been done before, though I have never seen it done. I apologize if I have stolen someone's idea.

What do you guys think? Be honest. I'm a big boy and can take the criticism or praise, whichever you have to offer.

Well, it's a good idea but it's been done

. Very rarely, but I have seen examples. The Spanish Navaja(sp?) folders sorta work that way.

One advantage is that if you put your thumb up in the Saber grip, you can structurally reinforce the lock with your own grip strength, which is also true of a Sebenza or similar.

I think it would be hard to unlock if you would use the same spring pressure as in the average lockback. But I can be wrong, I'm not an engineer

Damn. That's the exact idea I've had when I proposed the "reverse lockback" a few years ago.

A few months after that though, I saw a cheap tiny no-brand Taiwanese folder with that same exact concept, only it had circular knobs to push out. I found it in the bargain bin on one of the displays in a gun show. It's now part of my collection of oddities.

The idea is not original, but it's a good one.

That appears to be a lot like the AG Russell One-Hand knife.
