Yesterday I wrecked my BudK lockback stiletto opening a plastic light bulb package. I always knew it was a junk brand and in hindsight this wasn't a job for a folder anyway, but I always thought the blade would fail first -- instead the lock bar bent.

Anyway, I really like this design and was wondering if anyone knew a similar one (single-edged and fully manual) that's better-made.

TBH, i dont think budk anything is good for any purpose, very mall ninja level stuff. But yes, Falcon lock back stilletos are fun! not too expensive, and comes in several wood options among others.

I've opened that kind of tough clamshell packaging many times with the little coping blade on one of my Buck 305's and never once did I feel like the knife couldn't handle it.

If this little roughly 1" blade on this knife that many people would say is too small for anything can open that stuff like a hot knife through butter, any pocket knife of quality can.

Well anyways it good that the knife didn't cut you when it failed, and you learned a good lesson about steering clear of BudK.
I'm so glad I didn't get even half of the junk I wanted out of that catalog as a teenager, there's no telling how many fingers I'd have left today.
