After a few days of anticipation (seemed like weeks!) I received my first Schatt and Morgan knife! A lockback whittler from 2008. It's a bit fancier than what I normally use but I find the pattern interesting and I wanted something different.
The finish is excellent and the bone looks much better in person than in the photos. Also the blades are highly polished but look dark in the scans. There is some blade rub on the coping and pen blades which make contact with the liners. Both of these blades have almost no pull at all which was disappointing. This is a complex pattern and a 3 year old model so I'm willing to cut some slack. I'm guessing this is not the norm for Schatt & Morgan knives but is it acceptable for this pattern? Should I send it back? The clip point master blade has good pull and the lock is solid.
My first Schatt and Morgan knife!
Much fancier than most of my users.
Two humpbacks back-to-back.
Split backspring.
