I'm looking for a production lockback with a 3-inch blade and a 4+-inch handle in great fit and finish. What would you recommend?

Sounds like your talking about a Buck 112 with a 3" blade and a 4.25" handle with great fit and finish. It also depends on how much money you want to spend because these knives are relatively cheap and can be bought at Wally world which makes them great. You dont have to worry about loosing it or breaking is because they are easily accessible.

The Beretta Jess Horn collaboration model, if you can find one. Made by Moki for Beretta. Moki also made the Spyderco Jess Horn collaboration model. Fit and finish on both is superb, but the Spyderco is considerably smaller than 4" closed.

Spyderco's Ocelot is a great folder for all that you seem to be looking for.

Two lockbacks I own that come to mind as having exceptional fit:

- Soque River lockback. Made in Japan, black micarta handles. I haven't seen any for sale in a very long time, and the company is out of business.

- AG Russell Swing-Guard. Perfect F&F, made in Germany with natural handles and 440C steel.

Happy shopping,

Any Moki is an awesome knife. Also look at Mcusta they have top notch quality better than most but not quite equal to William Henry knives.
