Lockback??

Ditto. I saw this knife right away when it was listed, and thought I have never seen one like it. An English pattern right? The parts sure look authentic and old, but I've never seen any wormgroove bone on a Schrade, or have I? Is the color real light, or is it washed out? Sure did not affect the bidders. It is a cool knife, and it is a big one too.

Who did make that handle pattern? I've seen them a few times.

I primarily collect lock-backs and this one appealed to me but was too suspicious for the big-bucks to my mind.

I thought back in Schrade Cut Co. days the Safety Push-Button was the locking mechanism in use and then prior to the Bear Paw Family
Schrade seemed to use liner-locks. I could find nothing like this knife in catalogs or Dale's AAPK lists.

The shield and blade look very Schrade-like but I also find it odd that it has a mixture of 2 brass and 3 N/S (?) pins. Repair?

What is generally considered Schrade's first lock-back?

Mark just sent me this picture he took from the NKCA Museum.
It's not the same knife (second one down) but it indicates that not all knives made by SCC are in the available catalogs . . . . . . . .but we knew that!!:D

Schatt and Morgan come to mind when I see worm groove handles.
S.C.C though....Don't know about that!!
