I noticed that Lock Back knives are very popular. I can't see why, as they have a very serious design flaw; only a single spring holds the locking bar in place. It seems to me that anyone who is not a complete idiot would use a safer knife, since they are available. Even a backward ass fool who lives under a bridge and eats a diet exclusively of goat meat knows that

I use and carry multiblades 90 percent of the time. Locks are nice in certain rare situations, but this "certain complete idiot" knows how to use a knife that does not lock without cutting himself :D.

As far as lock back strength I have had some quality ones for over 30 years that have not failed under rough use.

BTW. you might enjoy this place a lot more if you joined the group rather than posting in the tone that you have.

Actually I think that linerlocks are more popular, espically since most factory folders are now linerlocks. Even slipjoints are becoming very popular.

He does have a point there, considering the whole "the Axis lock can fail on you so can't be counted on" train of thought.

Nice goin', brownshoes. Bye, bye.:D.

BTW...I LOVE my Spyderco (& SOG) lockbacks, so THERE!!

He gets banned?!? :barf: But he was just expressing his opinion! And some others just get keep to spreading their bile about well known and respected knife-makers willy nilly without any actual experience with their knives?

Brown....

Firstly anyone who wants a nonbending blade should use fixed blade. Folders are only substitutes to fixed blades and only reasonable because they are easier to carry around. If you go this way - saying that one spring is not enough - you shoud also say that one locking mechanism is not enough and springs / locking mechanics should be diverce. But redundance and divercity are not needed in a small device like this.

Secondly springs in lock backs are quite strong leaf springs that are very very much stronger than e.g.axis locks thin omega springs. I've NEVER heard of ANY leaf spring (in knives) that has broken during use. It may in some cases give in but it will not snap.

BTW banning you seems harsh to me (I read 120 first posts on the sebbie thread you started - what a waste of time for all participans after the first 20 posts). BUT you seem to walk on the edge if I judge you based on this thread (you start this in clearly more provocative tone than the sebbie thread).

Yes he got banned, run a search. Three out of a total of four of his posts were nothing more than trolling.

BTW. Brownshoes is not the same member as Brownshoe who started the Sebenza thread.

Don't worry he will be back.

Here are two threads Brownshoes started last night back to back.
1. "I noticed that Lock Back knives are very popular. I can't see why, as they have a very serious design flaw; only a single spring holds the locking bar in place. It seems to me that anyone who is not a complete idiot would use a safer knife, since they are available. 2. "How many of you would spend more than $3.99 for a knife? I can get a utility knife for about that much and think only a big, stupid idiot would pay more for any knife, regardless of intended uses, materials, or whaterever factors you can think of.

Please answer honestly, I want to know just how many of you guys are complete morons."

Those two threads that he started after registering yesterday were the reason. Next complaint please: :barf:

True, brownshoes is not brownshoe.

Wonder why the personal attack over just a sebenza? Are all sebeza owners like this? Maybe its some CRK employees? I know, it's Osama, he's still alive.

Has this type of identity theft occurred here before?

Must admire their inginuity.
