Lockbar problem... is it fixable?

I got a cheap clone. I will not buy another. But I was seduced by the price $25. Anyhow its one of the most badly made knifes I have seen. But I like fixing stuff.

The biggest issue was that the lockbar was 150% engaged and was hard to move to unlock the blade. So I pulled it apart and adjusted the bar back some. Now the action is not too bad but there is slop in the blade because a gap exists now between the blade and the lockbar stop.

There is no steel insert. I think the frame is steel. Is there anyway to add material to the framelock bar or the knife. I am guessing no but thought I would ask.

Brilliant! I will do that.
It won't take much, go light and easy at first. Peen, put it together, see how it fits, repeat until you like it. If you go too far, you'll have to remove metal, of course.
