Do you all have any recommendations for a traditional styled folder, with a carbon or non-stainless tool steel blade, blade length 3.5" to 4". Thanks.

GEC 55 Hound tooth (Wharncliffe) is 3.5 inches and you can get it locking
or
GEC 72 Wharncliffe is 3 7/8 and is a lockback

Just 2 that I have been looking at myself

Take a look at the lockback barlow made by A.G. Russell
.

Thanks for the replies! Keep 'em coming. I just ordered a GEC 55 Spearpoint. That Queen Mountain Man looks nice too.

Ah damn... I wanted a blade length of 3.5+", not closed length. The GEC 55 is gonna be tiny...

The GEC #42 Missouri Trader has 1095. For D2, look at the Queen Mountain Man lockbacks. The new Schatt & Morgan versions also are listed as D2. For something on the larger side, a Canal Street Squeeze is 5" closed with a 3 3/4" D2 blade.

If you would be interested in a liner lock, GEC has made some of their #23 pattern with a single blade liner lock.

Once again, I have to recommend the Queen Mountain Man. Their D2 steel is arguably the best available in a production pocket knife. My Mountain Man is my most-carried and most-used knife, coming everywhere with me and tackling everything with ease.

sorry, I do not understand the double posting

Sorry, A G. Bladeforums has been under a series of denial of service attacks. The result is that the servers get discombobulated and forget who posted what.

The Moore Maker lockback has been on my radar lately. Nice yellow bone handle, carbon steel, and nice leather sheath.

The usual suspects are:
GEC #23 Pioneer.
Queen Mountain Man.
Schrade USA 7-OT. 'Schrade' without the '+' on the tang generally indicates carbon steel on these.

The Case Trapperlock is available in CV steel in a couple of handle styles, but the blade is only 3.25", so perhaps not what you are looking for.

Just ordered a two-bladed #23 Pioneer in Brazilian Cherry. Even though it's not a lockback, the reviews say the springs are very strong.
