I am new here but have carried knives for a long time. That being said I am looking for a gentleman's folder. I like locking blades on knives I use and I will use this knife.

What comes to mind for everyone that fits the bill of the above?

That mostly depends on the look you're going for with the knife. A "Gentleman's Folder" is kind of a broad term.

You are looking for a Kershaw 1993-2. It looks good online... It's twice as good in person. Awesome steel, polished micarta handles, the best lockback I've ever used (and I've used a lot of them), and full brass liners. The F&F on this knife rivals many $300 folders.

Blade length and how much you're willing to spend may get you more focused answers.

Great questions. I tend to think of 3 inches to be the longest blade length I am looking for in this knife. I would like to spend no more than $150 on this one.

As far as style goes I could go a number if ways. I like the case mini copper lock but I can also appreciate one handed opening knives. I kind of feel like goldilocks looking for something "just right" so through out any ideas you have.

Just checked out the mnandi. I really like it just wish it fit in the bills right now. I look forward to the day I can afford customs.

Spyderco Air Bradley with a 2.56" blade of CPM-M4 is a great little cutting machine for just under $150. No pocket clip though.

I'd also check out the Al Mar Falcon and Hawk knives; they have a variety of handle materials and great fit and finish.

I also like the Moki and Mcusta aesthetics, but haven't handled them yet so I'm not sure of the quality. I believe that Moki actually makes the Al Mar knives, so I would expect their quality to be similar.

Don't forget to post some pics once you decide on one.

Case has the slimline model liner lock with a mirrored BG42 blade and pretty much your choice of handle materials. They release a few a year in different materials and the earliest releases may be difficult to find.

I like the Ti Chaparral from Spyderco. It's nice!

Klötzli CHW-M1. I have one with plain blade and Chartreuse Yellow Carbon Fiber handles. Beautiful knife with an awesome fit and finnish. Any other Klötzli knife would be a good choice too!
