Does anyone know if there is a decent knife with a locking blade that is similar in size to the uber slim Buck 302 Solitaire?

Case mini copper lock is pretty close and a GREAT knife. I love mine.

It's very slim and carries small and light in the pocket. Mine is the blue bone version.

Thanks guys. None of those knives (I have the CASE) are close to the size of the Solitaire. It is extremely slim side to side and top to bottom, yet it still has a decently long blade. I do not care if it is a traditional or not. In fact, I would prefer something more modern. Even the Boker Urban Trapper is much larger (and it has a crappy detent so it is dangerous).

Surely there is something out there?

Extrema Ratio Dark Talon ;)

Seriously though how about a ZT 0450? Benchmade 940 is too big I assume.

The longest thinnest knives I know of are those fruit sampling knives.

These are still pretty traditional but each has a cutting edge of 3.25 inches. The Rough Rider handle is 7 pennies thick (10.64mm). The Douk Douk handle is just under 4 pennies (6.08mm). The Douk Douk is non-locking but the backspring is far stiffer than any other slipjoint I have found.

Otter Mercator lockback. Available with black steel or brass handle versions. Classic.

Do a search for the Al Mar Osprey and Hawk. Both are high quality, well made, small locking knives.

I looked at the Al Mar knives. That was my first thought. However, the knives are either too small or too big.

I like the Spyderco Kiwi 4 for slim and thin in the pocket. It isn't mentioned often here on BF other than by me. You can take the clip off if you like. Fallkniven makes some nice small to medium sized moderns.
