Well I open thread in General knife maker s Discusion forum , but did not get much response http://www.bladeforums.com/index.ph...anism-for-folder-knive.1481506/#post-17044703

What do you think about this ? Something strong like Tri-Ad lock but much simple and give room for better proportion handle /blade ? So far I found bolt lock but I can t find clear picture to see how it works ??

Looks kind of like a hybrid of the Manix2's Ball Bearing Lock and the Compression Lock. Like the Compression Lock, it uses a small tab sandwiched between the blade and stop pin, but instead of having this tab mounted to the knife as a locking "leaf," it is mounted to the front of a coil spring. The BBL is different, it has a fixed lock bar up top instead of a stop pin and a spring-loaded ball below, which functions as the lock surface. See below for a pic.

I think your lock would work fine, don't see why not.

Pretty much a Cold Steel Pocket Bushman.

Edit- Clicked the link in Natlek's O.P after replying to see Pocket Bushman already suggested.

Natlek, you say your design is nothing like the same because it uses a stop pin rather than the frame of the knife, but basically it is the same lock, that can't be denied.

Bushman have not stop pin , it has different design .To work that lock must have closed frame ....not the same .And look at proportions handle / blade ..? For same length of handle my solution offers much longer blade ..........? Ok , I agree that there is some similarities ......seems that obviously I rediscovered hot water ;)

Is that your pic? I just pulled it from Google Photos, but it looks like it's from someone's Photobucket... hope they don't mind!
Not my picture but I like it very much
It really gives good details on the mechanism
Good pick from you ;)

Looks very similar to the lock that the Hawks used on the CRKT DOG (Deadbolt Over Grabstep).
Yes, similar in that it uses a stop pin to block positive pressure against the blade and a spring-loaded bar which locks over the rear of the "tang" to block negative pressure. The difference is that on the DOG lock the spring-loaded bar does not sit between the "tang" and the pin, it sits behind the pin.

I don't know if this iteration of the lock is superior in any way to the DOG -- I'm no engineer.

I also don't know if it's different enough to count as essentially different in a legal sense -- I'm no lawyer.

EDIT:

I modified your image to show how I believe the DOG lock works. Not how all the faces are angled and what-not. Just the most basic functioning of the mechanism.

Nice. That is also my basic understanding of the DOG lock. Frikin Hawks are practitioners of some sort of dark knife wizardry. I'd like to just hang out at their shop and watch them sort through whatever new insanity is on their minds.

That is pretty much the Bolt Action Lock.

Google Spyderco Sage 3, scroll down and you will ser pictures.

That lock is very close to my solution . How compensate wear on parts I can't figure ?

Yeah, it's only been about 5 years...................
Yes, it's been about five years. I'm glad they made it. It means that my idea was good then .I come to that just from looking in Tri-ad lock . What i don t liked then and now on knife with Tri-ad lock is disproportionate proportion of blade/handle ..
