Picked up a one sided counter display at an auction the other day, model #OD6402 and it's didn't come with any keys. Figured I'd swap the locks with some I had at work but everything I had the lock itself was too long or the latch part wasn't right. Gonna take one of the locks to Lowes, True Value, etc today and see if I can match up a replacement. Anyone know the specs on these locks or had to replace them before? The case is in great shape and for $30 I figured it was a neat way to display a few of my Bucks. Now I need to find some of the advertising things that slide into the sides of the case.

They are simple locks and any good locksmith can make a key. I had a key made for one of mine that I had picked up the display for a great price so, didn't mind putting some money in it. A locking Buck display is a great piece for a display table at a show. It gives an authentic look to the display and with a lock it protects your long sought models, which could take years to replace one. DM

I have four old Buck displays and I think the keys were pretty much one size fits all. We could work something out. If you case looks like mine I'll send you the keys to try and if it fits, you copy it and send mine back. Could you post a picture of what your case looks like? Last time I had a locksmith make a missing key for something it was $20...copying a key would be alot cheaper. /Roger

You have Buck knives to lock up. You might consider a Buck lock.

KOOL! I happened upon this one at my favorite flea market a few years back. Don't know anything about where it was made though.

Made in USA during the 1920s. A must-have with padlock collectors. Yours looks as new. Do you have the correct key?

Yes I do. The key is interesting, in that it is curved. It is in very nice condition. There are a few scrapes in the paint on the sides and back, but very minor.

Thanks for the information. I had no idea how old the lock is. The only other marking besides the "BUCK" name, is Made In USA on the back.

I've seen at least three different keys to these tiny BUCK padlocks: left curve, no curve and right curve. The tip of the key always protudes from the back of the padlock when the key is in its working position. The correct key blanks are rare and can cost as much as the lock so hang onto your keys. My favorite locksmith, capable fellow, gave me my walking papers when I wanted to know if he could make a key for it. However, my clever son made a working key from sheet brass but it is quite flexible and he had the original key to work from.
