Hello, I have a question regarding the 440 Opportunist's liner lock. Is this lockup position correct? It's much later than I've seen on other liner locks but I know there are different liner lock variants. I just wanted to verify this is good to go. Thanks!

It looks like it is over ramping a bit. They should have an adjustable stop pin to remedy that. Open the blade remove the stop pin screw, then un-lock the blade and rotate the stop pin itself with your driver testing each lock face until the liner ramps at minimum flush with right side of the blade. Then with the blade open put the screw back in with blue loctite.

Jimmy you are awesome! I am going to give it a go! Thank you very much!

I didn't know this trick would change the lockup %. If it does, does that mean the stop pin is either not perfectly centered or not perfectly round?

To the OP question: no - that lockup is too late, not normal IMO.

the stop pin on a lot of bm’s liner locks is faceted, with different diameters for each face, so that as the lock surface wears with use you can adjust the lockup to an earlier position. i’ve got an 890 & a 320 that are built thus way. it’s really a neat feature, if extends the life of the knife by quite a bit.
