Hey guys, I use Loctite extra time (green package) epoxy occasionally, and called Henckel's tech dept regarding the shelf life.
A nice rep advised me that the shelf life of this product is 18 months from the date of manufacture.
The coding on this product, for the blister-pack syringe-type, is as follows:
On the rear of the plastic syringe itself (of course, it would be too easy if it was on the outside of the cardboard package itself, right?), there will be an approx. ten-digit alpha-numeric code. This is the date of the manufacture, and the 18-month shelf life starts from that date:
The third digit, or thereabouts, is a number....that is the year of the manufacture.
The next character after that is the month of manufacture. It will be a letter.
A=January, B=February, etc.
So, in my particular waste of money, in this case, as an example, the code is:
LB7KAA2151. So, the date of manufacture was October 2007.
Had to throw all my stuff out.:grumpy:
If you mangle the blister-pack at the store, you can maybe get a look at this code before you buy it....it's on the back (figures).

Good call. I'm quite sure there's a safety factor; like tires that are rated for 2500 pounds won't blow under a load of 2501 pounds but more like 4000 pounds. Still, good info to know.
