should i use it on clip screws? - i just got a new clip for my spyderco delica 4 frn , and it came with a small tube of loctite - i already took the old one off, did not seem to be too hard to unscrew - do they put loctite on the screws at the factory? - i got the clip from the spyderco factory outlet so i would guess they use it on new knives at the factory - also , if i do use it , how should i put it on without it coming up and out and making a mess?- and will it be hard to unscrew them if i use it?

I wouldn't use loctite on a clip screw. If you do make sure it is blue or purple loctite. If you are going to put it on put it on the threads of the fastener it is easy to clean up just use a paper towel if you make a mess.

I wouldn't use anything stronger than Medium Strength Loctite. I believe if you read the directions you should put a tiny drop on the threads of the screws, and let it dry before assembly. If you let it dry you shouldn't have a mess. I don't think many people use loctite according to the directions.

If you carry that knife for a long time, the spring clip may eventually fail. You will then want to remove or replace that clip and putting loctite on it will no longer seem to have been a good idea.

Of the dozens of knives I have owned & carried that use clips, I don't think I have had even one lose the screws. Of course I do occasionally check for loose screws before it becomes a problem.

yeah - i have never used it before myself - i have lost a screw or two but i think it was my fault for not checking them- i think i will go without it (loctite) - but thanks to all who have replied to my thread - marc (the hankist)
