What kind of loctite, or color, is best for using on the screws for folders ? Specifically, Strider SnG.

Use the blue and just a dab of it.A hair dryer will work to loosen them at a later date if need be.That being said I would only use it if it was really necessary.

The real question is,
Are all locktites created equal, as in the off brand stuff, or should you always buy genuine?

The non-namebrand stuff I just bought didn't seem to hold very well. So was it my method or is there simply no subsitute for the real thing?

i have been using an off brand for a while w/no probs, ya gotta be sure to get the grease/oil out of the pivot hole and off the screw (or whatever ya are applying it to) i clean it w/alcohol sometimes. if ya dont get the oil out, it wont stick. also let it dry for a good hour/2.

Just to update, thanks for the info from everyone. I went to home depot, the stuff is:

Made by: Pacer Technology

It's called: Pro Seal / Pro Lock "Thread Lock"
Get the bottle that says "removable"
It's .20 fl. oz.
part number: 24206.

E-z to use, used it on the strider SnG, and the buck / mayo.

Once again, thank you :)
