Log House Building Course Gransfors 2008

Cool video...I like the style of cabins made in that part of the world..very cool. Made me miss a couple of my GB's I have let go of...:D
On a side note, can anyone ID the pants the instructor was wearing? I think they are "Blackladders" but I am not sure. I could use some...
All my searching has turned up bumbkis.

I'd like to have a plainer like that, a lot can be done with it. The lock notching is cool too.

Hahahaha... I WANT THOSE PANTS... Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed them. Pretty cool using both new tools and the old school stuff side by side.

I think it was a great way to learn.."here's how to do it old school, here's how we do it today" Very cool stuff.

Yeah, as I get older, I find myself TRYING to avoid my 25lb. tool bags..
I did a bunch of surfing, and I like the CAT work pants..I really like the knee pad feature, my knees are junk, I have been wearing external pads for a while, especially when working on ladders..when I lean against the rungs with my knees, it hurts like a big dog...so that feature would be very cool for me.

Pants like those are common among carpenters, metalsmiths, bricklayers, etc. here in Scandinavia. I cant remember what mine were but they looked like those only in grey, but there are several brands that produce those type with reinforced knees, etc. Theyre not that good for outdoor use, cause they dont dry that fast and are pretty heavy.

If youre looking for the same type/look for outdoor use then look up Fjallraven and Haglofs. I dont know if theyre available in the US, but here in Europe theyre seen on almost every angler, hunter, hiker, forestworker, etc.

Fjallraven Vidda. These are real nice, light and quickdrying. Windproof too with many pockets.

Haglofs Rugged Mountain pants. Same qualities as Fjallraven only different fabric. Ive got a pair of these. Highly recommended.

Doesn't Bear Grylls wear those? Or something really close in appearance.
