Tom,
Thanks for posting this! I can recall when I was a kid, my Dad had one of these, (notice I said "had"), one day when he was not at home, I climbed up onto the kitchen stove to reach the cupboard above where he kept it. I was facinated with it, with it's silver bullet and all. I honestly credit this knife with sparking my love and interest in pocketknives. He used to take it out and let me look at it every now and then, but I was too young to actually get to use it. Anyways, I climbed up and got it down on my own one day, I took it outside and began to throw it and make it stick into the ground. Then ... I LOST IT! I couldn't find it, lost in the deep grass, never did find it. Anyways, when Dad got home I had to confess. Got myself in trouble. As I grew older, Dad always made it a ritual to give me his old pocketknife whenever he retired one from his pocket after many years of faithful service, and then I carried it for a while, then it go in my box of knives and my collection started from there I guess. When he passed away in 2003, my Mom gave me the one he had been carrying, and at the funeral home, I had my knife that I carried put into his pocket. Anyways, I probably would have that Lone Ranger today if I didn't lose it back then. Since then, I've got my collection to well over 700 knives, and I made it point to find a Lone Ranger knife for my collection, which I did do. In fact, I have two now, a red one like he had, and also a white one. Just had to share that story. Thanks again for the pictures.
