Being laid up with a busted limb is not conducive sometimes when it comes to buying on line ;) but, I do like the looks of that Lone Star Hunter, so much so there's one enroute as I type, nice, hope I can get the wife to bring it to me when it arrives, ankle damage makes for slow movements.

I've did some google searches for some more vids about this folder, not a lot out there really, I keep hearing the bad about the scales, but also saw one vid, sorry guy don't recall but you did a sweet job putting some wood scales on there, very nice! So that's a small point that can be cleared up with some craftsmanship, but as I recall from some vids that the delrin on there is actually pretty tuff stuff and will most likely put up with a lot more than we think, although it may look a bit of a put on, but from a distance it doesn't look too bad, kinda like me ;)

SO, if any of you guys/gals have this knife, love to see some pics and vid's if possible of the knife in action.

I hate waiting, hence the thread :)

To me, the nice full flat ground blade combined with that Tri-Ad lock, winning combo right there, I gave my American Lawman to a friend...he lost it ! but was always very impressed with it's lockup.

Thanks in advance folks,
G2

I have the Lone Star Hunter. It's a very good knife, it offers most of the features of the Large Clip Point Voyager in a more stylish package that avoids the "tactical" look. It is a little heavier than the Voyager though.

I love the look of them...except for the handle scales. Either use real wood/bone or plain plastic. Not plastic that looks like something else.

Thanks, that's good to hear, possibly I'll change out my scales too.

No one has any pics or vids to share?

Thanks Mike, great addition to the thread, I was tempted to get the nail nick version but decided on the thumbstud one, as then it's one less spot for 'stuff' to hide out in :) and less to try n clean out when you use it for food chores.

But I'm guessing the blade can be pinched open being as wide a blade?

Tuff looking knife
Thanks again

Well, the mail finally went ;) and the box arrived, I'll not mention the source but I'm kinda certain that it must have been a return to them and they repurposed it to me :( but, none the less, it is in almost like new condition.
I don't think Cold Steel puts bits of scotch tape on each end of the box?
And the edge up near the curve portion of the blade hand gunk just above the bevel line, some 'gift' from whatever material it had cut through the last time it was used. But I was able to strop that off without too much trouble, wasn't glue, but something else that left a hard residue. The edge was not harmed and the rest of the knife appears to be solid, very very good lockup of course! and it would shave hair easily, so it's not needed to be returned, just miffed lol but then, I'm in not so good a mood with a busted ankle anyways, but after the clean up and edge testing, I'm happier.

The scales, they are smooth feeling, slippery as some might say but overall I don't know if I would change them out, not just yet at least, as they can take a beating and won't be harmed if you get gunk on them and have to wash it off.

One thing I'll say about faux stag scales, it's easier to get a matched set ;)

Once I get some photos, I'll post them in the thread I started earlier, hoping that it grows into a nice library of Cold Steel knives from the distant past as well as the future from the hands of those that own or owned them. I've a friend with an old CS UltraLoc that I plan on borrowing to add to that thread at some point.

Now since I have this, it was a toss up on this or a Code 4, I may, when funds avail themselves, pick up a spearpoint plain edged Code 4 as the handle looks a bit more positive when gripped in those times you may need such a grip. I see far more info regarding the Code 4 than this one but I do like the blade on this one a lot too.

Thanks all,
G2

edited to mention;
The back of the bowie clip, the edges are fairly crisp, I'll need to knock them down a little for carry, otherwise it feels like you could cut skin with them, from the final grinding operation left it too crisp.
Now, the handle, they did an excellent job, there do not seem to be any sharp edges any where along the handle frame, nicely done!!!

I guess before this thread goes off the page, wouldn't hurt to have one photo of mine here ;)
