So, has Benchmade mothballed these two brands? Permanently?
(I did do a search before asking... :) )

It almost looks that way, i guess we will have to wait for official word from the Benchmade mod....

It appears to be yes and yes. The Lone Wolf line never howled as owned by Benchmade. Nothing beat the near-custom originals in solid G-10 with rounded spine and S30V blades...and I much favor these over the newer look-alikes.

And the Bone Collector models look to be replaced by the new 'Hunt' series...I think the logos on both blade and handle scales were overdone, but the 15020 and 15030 'Presidio type' were the gems in the offerings just as they were, due to the excellent D2 blades.

...and yes these are my opines, but I'll bet both lines are gone this year.

I was at my local blade shop and asked about the Bone Collector series and he said when at shot Benchmade told him the Hunt series will sort of just take over Bone Collector. He said nothing about the Lone Wolf side of things though 😕

There is one in the loan wolf series I really want them to make with good steel and g10. It was the one with the orange handle, was fixed blade, and maybe hollow ground. Pretty much a perfect knife, but I was never sure of the blade steel used and didn't buy it. They can do away with all the funky handle on the LW series...I'm sure no one will miss those.

I just went to the BM site and the LW and BC pages are gone already.

I've got 2-3 original Lone Wolf models, and one Benchmade version of a Lone Wolf knife... and it's just not the same. Lone Wolf was a whole different company before Benchmade bought them, on the other hand I really like N680. Anyway, it kinda reminds me of MOD being murdered by Blackhawk. Very sad. Going to have to snag a Bone Collector Grip/Presidio before they disappear.

Benchmade has discontinued Lone Wolf & Bone Collector as of January 2014.

At SHOT Show 2014 we launched Benchmade HUNT (http://hunt.benchmade.com/). As Lone Wolf and Bone Collector were strong brands for us we are focusing our efforts on the new HUNT line and delivering a hunting knife that will perform to the needs of hunters with great edge retention, durability and corrosion resistance (S30V blade steel).

Well, straight from the horse's mouth... Thanks for the official response!

R.I.P. Bone Collector........

I really dig my 15020, one of the best folders I have.
