I have seen the ads for these Lonewolf knives, and really like the styles. I even have a friend who is getting a dealership with them, so I may be able to get mine cheaper. My questions and concerns, however, are with their blade steel decisions. This Paul style folder has 420 bladesteel. The Loveless style fixed blade is 440B, while the Tighe style folder is listed as having S30V bladesteel. ??? If they can use S30V in the Tighe, why not in all the knives?

Good point, Dan. As in the Paul's situation, most of the cost of the knife I think comes from the machining for the unique lock mechanism. With the Loveless fixed blades, the integral bolster and blade are forged. With the Tighe, it's pretty much a straight-forward liner lock folder...no radical machining or forging involved.

Basically, what I am trying to say is if they used any of the higher performance steels on the Loveless and Paul knives, doing so might push the MSRP of those knives above what LWK had in mind for those pieces. Stay tuned, though...they've got some damascus pieces coming down the line that will balance things out!

One thing is for sure; I'm gonna get me one of those Tighe folders!
