I was just lookin on New Graham, and when I went to the Lone Wolf Section, there was a message that read:

NOTE TO OUR CUSTOMERS: We Have been having some complaints and seeing some problems with the quality of some Lone Wolf Knives, We are suspending sales of Lone Wolf Until we feel this problem is resolved to our satisfaction and we have checked all our remaining stock. Sorry for the inconvenience to our customers.

What's up with this?

P.S. here's a link

What exactly are you asking? It seem pretty obvious to me. An honest dealer looking out for himself and his customers. I wouldn't want to sell a shabby product either.

Not sure, but kudos to New Graham for doing it if they feel it's needed!

Just another reason why they are one of the best online sellers.

I guess what I'm asking is, did anyone else know about Lone Wolf having big quality issues? I've heard nothing but good reviews about them.

mmmphhh, I reviewed the "city Knife" a while back, IMO, it was a decent $45 knife being sold for $75. I can't comment on any of their other models.

I ordered my T2 from NGK. At the time they weren't happy with the quality of the pieces they had in stock. I can't remember the details, I think one didn't have nice handles, one may have had blade play, etc. So they held my order until they got a new batch in and found one they felt me their standards and sent it to me. I've had no complaints with it. Maybe they were getting more bad than good.

I think "what's up" is that they're "having some complaints and seeing some problems with the quality of some Lone Wolf Knives" and, as a result, "are suspending sales of Lone Wolf Until we feel this problem is resolved to [their] satisfaction."

What is there to wonder about??

Peace.

More power to NewGraham for keeping an eye out for us.
THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you for your insightfulness...

Perhaps in the opening post you should have asked your intended question outright, i.e. "Has anyone heard of quality problems with Lone Wolf", instead of asking quite plainly, "What's up with this?"

Simple questions deserve simple answers when possible.

I've seen about 8 lone wolf knives in the last year, across all models, no problems. My city knife is 2 years old and in great shape. DaveH has got it wrong, it's a $125 knife for $75. Some people buy them new and send them to Oopa on knifeforums for customization.

From the other thread, it appears that NG inspect knives before shipment when requested; make sure you ask for this additional service when ordering. Last time I ordered from NG, they pulled out their last two knives of the model I wanted (first and second generation with some differences) and told me that the first generation was distinctly better in fit and finish, and that's what they would send to me.

New Graham is good like that. They did the same thing with Cold Steel Arc Angel Balisong series which had major QC issues. Once those issues were resolved they started carrying them again.

Your best bet would be to take NG's advice, or if you still really want one, contact the dealer ahead of time and have him check out the one he is going to ship you before shipping it out. Of course you would have to know if the dealer is trust worthy or not too. It's good to know dealers like that.
