This is sort of an evaluation based on first impressions! Just received two
brand new knives today from the Knife Connection.
In my hands at the moment are the Lone Wolf Harsey T2 and the Emerson CQC-8. Both impressed me at first sight! Just some observations and not slam against either knife. Like them both!
1.) The Lone Wolf the heavier duty version of the two but the Emerson is no slouch!
2.) I've not taken any measurements but the the metal liner and lock are definitely heavier on the Lone Wolf model. I think the Emerson liner needs to be heavier but will see!
3.)The pocket clip is heavier on the Lone Wolf.
4.)Out of the box both knives were shaving sharp but my arm shows the slight lead going to the Lone Wolf.
5.)Blade design, well, I just always liked the look of this particular Emerson knife.
6.)Total length, the Emerson is longer overall but it looks like the Lone Wolf
just edges it out in blade length.
7.)I actually like the handle material on both knives but consider the Emerson material superior for when you handgets a little slippery.
8.) The Lone Wolf was just about perfectly centered in the frame but the Emerson model was going toward one side.
9.)The Emerson model lock release was a little more difficult to release
10>.)As far as collecting dirt the Lone Wolf is a more open knife than the Emerson but I don't its enough to make any real difference~
I'm actually perfectly pleased with both knives at the moment. Only time
will tell how they come out in the wash. I've had good first impressions
before and its turned in the opposite direction with use. Again, just from the inital examination it appears the Lone Wolf model is likely the more rugged of the two. If that be the case, its also the less costly of the two knives.
