I'm thinking of getting a Lone Wolf T2 and I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion about it.

I see it comes in a sort of dizzying array of finishes.
I'd definitely go for the black FRN.

Also noticed 3 blade types...a "Ranger" - plain edge only; http://lonewolfknives.com/store/pages/products-harsey-lc14600.shtml and a "Tactical" - available with a plain edge http://lonewolfknives.com/store/pages/products-harsey-lc22020.shtml or a comboedge http://lonewolfknives.com/store/pages/products-harsey-lc22000.shtml .

Then there's the weight. The Lone Wolf Knives site lists the Ranger plain edge at 7.0 ounces. Also shows the Tactical Ranger comboedge at 7.0 oz.

But then it shows the Tactical Ranger plain edge at 5.2 oz!

So I'm wondering if anyone has the black nylon T2, likes it, and has any idea if it's more like half a pound or more like five ounces?

I phoned Lone Wolf Knives yesterday. Spoke with a good guy who was very helpful.

He said that the T2 knife with black FRN scales weighs 5.2 ounces, not 7.0 ounces, and that Lone Wolf would be changing the information shown on its website.

I had a T2 and sold it. the liner would move a little and pop when you used the knife hard. I sent it back, twice and they finally fixed it. I think they had a few problems but may have fixed them. I have a T3. It has solid lock-up. The liners are probably twice as thick. The T2 was a nice knife, great blade.

I have a T2. Great blade. OK handle but the scales aren't cut cleanly - quality control issue. Lockup is good. I have cocobolo handles - they look great but get slippery when wet.

I received mine today and it's great.

Fit and finish, lockup, edge sharpness - everything.

Haven't been this pleased with a new knife in quite some time.

That is very good to hear. I've been hoping that the QC issues I heard about in the past would be fixed. I'm picking up a T1 w/ rosewood scales soon.

Have fun with the new knife

Have a ranger t2 with nylon handle scales - great flat ground blade - light weight (orig. ti liners) - best clip i have used --- but --- liner lock would fail under heavy bush use. Fixed this by bending lockbar in + roughing up tang with diamond file. no longer a one handed closer. i'll use 2 hands to close a knive if i can trust the lock.

Bought a c/f t1. Big mistake , an absolute piece of junk ! Thumb stud hung up on frame - blade scraped on bagk spacer - fit + finish worse than $8.95offshore crap. Called Lone Wolf - they told me i was a knife makers worse nightmare.

not the strongest lock, I've found, but ground with a thin edge and a great cutting tool. Not the type of knife I'd rely on in the bush if I had the choice as it's very light, and not so bombproof. But I love it! Great handle, superb blade shape and very light for its size. Great feeling knife, but don't get one if it's going to be your only knife, I'd opt for something a little smaller and burlier.

:thumbdn::thumbdn:I would not reccomend it. Those were bad news for me. Every time i owned one, or recieved a replacement. It had lock issues. All other aspects are great. But all of them had defective locks in some way or another. I love the design and blade, but just wont ever trust that lock.

Wow, sorry you guys did not have a good experience with this knife.

The knife I received is really excellent in all respects. In fact, on my next trip it´s going to replace my BM710D2 as my main user.

What I´d heard appears to be true...there were QC issues which have been corrected by Lone Wolf.

they used Ti liners in their earlier models, and according to Bill @LWK, they changed over to stainless steel at the request of military buyers. Mine is Ti, and I think the liners are just a little thin and perhaps the leaf spring doesn't have quite enough of a bend to it. I'm going to bend mine in just a bit and see if it helps. For such a big knife it really does seem oriented towards fine work as opposed to abusive work.
