I've seen them selling at $130 on ebay, and was wondering if that's a good deal, or not. What type of quality are we talking about? How does it compare to the Camillus Dominator, or Buck/Mayo? Is the Tighe folder a frame lock?

Any info on this knife would be appreciated.

Thanks,
DD

The Tighe Pan is a liner lock. I have had two. Overall quality and finish is leagues ahead of the Buck Mayo. As has been said many times, put a Lone Wolf Tighe and a Brian Tighe custom side by side and you will have a hard time telling the difference. Don't know about the Dominator, but I have had a Maxx - and again, the quality is in different classes.

Blade shape of the Tighe is long and lean - very pretty and makes a great letter opener, but as far as EDC goes, perhaps it is a bit limited. It is thin and light and solid - very easy to carry. The grips design is excellent, good expansion of the grips front and back. I can't really compare the S30V heat treat - as I never really really found a place in any real cutting duties - and perhaps that's the reason it is being dumped by Lone Wolf - just how many folks (knife knuts) want a high quality letter opener?

My primary criticism of the Tighe is that the thumb stud is rather poorly designed. It is an inverted cone shape, narrow at the blade and fat at the top. I personally never found the blade easy to open, regardless of adjusting the pivot tension to a minimum.

$130 is a great price on a great knife. I look at mine, and often wonder what Architect brought up. Just what more could you get by paying 3-4 times more for the custom version?

I have 2 of the earlier versions of the Tighe Pan and they are virtually indistinguishable from the custom knives. At $130, I'd grab it.

I came close to getting one at a local brick and mortar knife store when the prices were severely discounted from Lone Wolf's ambitious initial pricing. Fit and finish was excellent. It felt like a custom knife.

I bought one a few weeks ago and I am really impressed! The knife is
perfectand a steal at $130, I never bought it at $280 because I had a bad experience with LW's Paul knife. Although, I am extremely happy I bought the Tighe knife.

Thanks for all the info, guys! I'll have to see if I can scrounge up the dough to pick one of these up. Ebay has a few of them with Buy-It-Now prices right at $130. I don't know how long it will be 'til they either fall more in price, or disappear altogether.
