Newbie here with a very specific question.

I have a Benchmade Lone Wolf Trask, which I'm very happy with and use each day, but misplaced the screws that fasten the clip on. I'm trying to get a line on replacements but Benchmade is of no help — not only are they unable to provide replacement parts as the model is discontinued, but they refuse to give me the screw dimensions so I can buy replacements, claiming that is proprietary information. That doesn't leave me much to work with.

Anybody know the specific dimensions for the clip screws? Thought they might be M1.7X5 but the OD was too small when I tried that. Much appreciated.

Welcome, I’m not sure this will help but I pulled it from an old thread :

It's been quite a while since I made custom scales for my Lone Wolf knives, but I'm nearly positive the screws are a 2-56 size. Pretty much any quality knife supply site should have them. Get the button head ones. They come in several colors also.... black, silver, gold..... all torx I believe. Get them longer than they need to be and then cut them down to size with snips and smooth the edge with a dremel. I think that's what I did.... holding them with needle nose pliers.

The question was about screws for the Swale, the smaller version of the Trask. Hope it helps.

The Swale and Trask are both the same size screws. 2-56. I can't name specific knife making supply sites here, but these are pretty easy to find with a basic web search. I would stick with the button head style and then clip them with heavy wire cutters to the right length. It's pretty easy if you have some basic tools and are on the handy side of things.
