Thinking of buying a Lone Wolf Harsey folder (T2). It is the one with the 4in plain blade. How well would this work as a suvival folder/EDC? Does anyone have one, and if so any comments. I am also concerned on how strong the lock is, anyone know if they fail? Thanks
Wade

I guess that no one has much to say about this knife. How about a different large (4in blade) folder for survival use/mindset?

Wade,
When you post on the forum regarding a knife and want input, you really should post a link such as Harsey T-2 Ranger tactical folder and then anyone can quickly check out the specs and make a better informed comment. Not just you, lots of folks do it and then I end up doing a google search to see what they're talking about.

BTW, looks like a nice knife, how does it feel in your hand?

Thanks for the link, I still havent learned how to post links. Thanks again.

Sorry Wade I spend most of my time in balde discussion. Anyway the T2 is a great knife, definately a good survival knife. The lock is good espicially for a liner lock also I just love the handle and tumbstuds. The only negative thing I can think of is that due to its bead blasted finish it could form small amounts of rust on the surface if neglected. However even so it is very easy to get off. In short definately get unless of course you dont like it (i pretty sure you do) or plan on leaving in a damp place for a while.

I have posted on your other thread about the t-2 and I guess I might as well say this again, that the t-2 is one of my favorite knives. It is light, locks up well and it was sharpest out of the box knife I have ever ordered. Although it can form small specks of rust on the blade if it gets wet and you dont dry it the specks are easily removed with some metal polish.

These specks of rust I only experienced during the summer, when it was very humid. I have used the knife for a large variety of cutting tasks, and it works great. Also I find the handle to be extremely comfortable, and the size to be perfect for my tastes.

When I had a T2 I used it for many wilderness and EDC chores that it performed great on. My only gripe was I hated the pocket clip, one of the ugliest around, and it was a bit long for some pockets. But overall a great knife, the wide spear blade is one of the best around.

I have had several of the Harsey Tactical folders, I like the way they perform and the locking system performs very well. The pocket clip is a little tight, but other than that it's a solid knife.
