Have you ever had one of those days? I glued up some scales for a full tang gave them plenty of time to set and I was drilling the holes when I noticed they were un laminating. So I did it again. Same thing. So I scrapped it and went on to a stacked handle. Turned out ok. Should have taken the day off.

Yeah, There are some days we should pack up and leave the shop but your knife turned out very nice after all the headache you went through.

Thanks blade scout. Maybe someone can help me with the problem I was having. I was using a thin piece of brass as a liner. Epoxied it between a piece of walnut and black liner material. The first time I glued it up it was cooler and maybe i didn't give the brass enough tooth. But the second time I sanded it with 50 grit cleaned it with acetone and it was in the mid 70s.

Some soak the leather disks in epoxy thus reducing shrinkage better durability too .

wow, 50 grit is plenty enough bite. i usually use 120. the only thing i can think of is that the brass probably gets a lot hotter than the other materials from sanding/shaping and the epoxy bond failed. did the layers on each side of the brass come loose ?

It come off the walnut first but I could peel it off the black spacer material
