About four or five years ago, I had Steve McEvoy at Tru-Bal make me three knives which I call LSBT's...Long, Skinny, Blade Throwers...somewhat based on the Skeeter Vaughan bayonet design. Steve visited an old model which I believe that "MAC" and Skeeter talked before making. In fact, they are similar to the ones "MAC" uses in his video when he demonstrates the 1.5 turn throw at around 30 feet.
Mine are around 17" I think (...don't have them in front of me and forgot the measurement) and work great for long distances due to the delta between the center of the knife and its balance point...the knife is WAY handle heavy and THIN, so it really cuts the air and travels far, but rotates SLOOOOOOOOWWWWWLY compared to a center balance handle thrower.
So far, I can do repeat sticks at around 65 feet, or three and a half turns, but I have to throw really high to get the knife to arc into the target. It's alot of fun. Fortunatley, my neighbors don't complain...
Anyone else try some far distances with their knives? What knife works for you? I find that the center balanced handle throwers, which I can throw real accurately out to two rotations, are harder to throw at the further distances...
