I just had to show off this bowie. First I have to tell you, my wife Tina bought this knife :D from Mark Holson who I have been helping with his knife making for quite a while, he no longer needs help as you can see. By the way Tina says it's not for sale. :D Check out attachments.

The blade is 11 1/2'' of W2, the guard, ferrule and butt cap are 1084, the handle is walrus ivory, the hamon is unbelievable. This is one of the finest knives I've ever seen, very clean work. These pics do no justice to this piece.
We haven't had a sheath made yet but hopefully soon.

Wow! What a terrific bowie! Elegant in all respects. And yes, that hamon is stunning. Look like I have another maker to add to my watch list.

My wife wouldn't buy me anything like that.

We've been married for 16 years and I have been collecting guns for ever and custom knives for the last five years and she has never bought me a knife or a gun.
That's right. Never! I hate her guts for it! :D

That is a beautiful Bowie knife.

RWS you misunderstood. My wife bought it for her, not me :D
But I get to hold it and look at it.

I think I have a bowie collecting wife :)

I've had some inquiries about Mark Holson as no one has heard of him.
He lives here in southern Missouri. He doesn't have a web site or go to shows but he sells is knives exclusively through Gary Levine -levineknives.com
He doesn't make very many knives but they are exceptional. I've been around knives a long time and nobody makes a finer one as Mark.

Outstanding. The most unusual aspect is how he finished the choil grind. Simply remarkable. I *thought* I'd seen it all. Then along comes Mark Holson.... ;)
