Hello there!

Nevertheless this good topic AKA Train Wreck was dramatically closed I really wanna start a new one, mainly to appreciate those kind folks such as Mr. D Drop bear who have advised me to take a look at that Real Steel stuff. Thank you sir!
You know, I bought it. Not a D2, but their bigger knife Bushcraft Plus 3720 in 14C28N. It's really good, it met my expectations almost perfectly. The only my complaint is the quality of their Sandvik 14C28N. Known as totally stainless (ain't talking about some fooling with lemons and salt water) this particular alloy isn't so. I have Muela Kodiak II made of the same steel and I couldn't make it rust or even patina no matter I treat it, but RS Bushcraft can corrode a bit, just be aware of, in case.
But seriously, this knife is really good overall. Also I wanna say, that lanyard hole place is so smart, so comfy, truly a nice decision. Despite many guys have criticized and made fun of me out there in the original topic, for my aim to find exactly the convex grind knife, in fact I kinda fell in love with convex grind with this blade, I really liked it! It goes through the cheese and wood so easily, it chops and it cuts so well. Just take a look !
Look here if you don't have an Instagram. And I wanna remind y'all, it's 4.5 mm thick knife (0.177165 in I suppose...).
So yep, I'm quite satisfied.

Well, this isn't it. As I can't say this particular steel is great, I'm gonna keep searching for my perfect knife anyway. I need something more sturdy, like 3V, CPR and probably the best option is Magnacut. Still with convex blade grind of course. Since knives like these is quite rare and the BRK didn't get any cheaper, my new fav is Fallkniven S1. Well yes, VG10 + 420 (as the blade is laminated with those two) ain't as cool as Magnacut is promise to be, but I believe at least it's harder than the 14C28N and not less tough or is it?

So actually this is my main question to the venerable community: is that S1's blade of VG10 + 420 generally better than the Sandvik 14C? I like 14C's toughness a lot, yet I must acknowledge it gets dull a bit quick in my way of usage at least.
Does anybody have or previously owned a Fallkniven S1 or their other stuff with exactly the same steel? Are you satisfied? Is it that tough? Is it brittle on the egde?

Will be very much appreciated for any feedback and don't mind the discussion!

Fallkniven's vg-10 can be chippy initially, though kinda rare it does happen!!!! Once you sharpen past the factory ground burned heat treat there are generally no issues... I don't have any vg-10 left sold em all.. Just have a volcano in LamCoS and the juni in 3g..... Each is a step up in hardness!!! The best part about 3g is that they forego the 420j outer slabs and use vg-1 which doesn't get scratched up nearly as.much as the 420j used in LamCoS and vg-10 core knives...

Yep, I've seen it of course. The most funny moment was when she complained on the rubber handle end after she destroyed it by literally hit a rough rock with it for a few minutes 😄 What a test!

Meanwhile, I'm just going crazy about convex grind more and more! 🥰 This is something!
