Howdy all,

Longtime lurker and beneficiary of the gazillion pearls of wisdom that so freely roll about in this forum.

For a long time I've wanted to be a part of the knowledge exchange, but have just gotten to a place business-wise where I felt like I could actually come out and join the fun.

First off, I hope everyone that frequents this forum fully appreciates the amazing blend of knowledge, compromise and expertise that resides herein.

Having decided to take the plunge into the full-time knife making arena last year, I've spent a great deal of time trying to figure out where to make our online "home-away-from- home", so to speak.

While there are several decent forums available, BladeForums.com was the only venue that I felt truly "at home" both in philosophy and content. I was simply amazed by the number of "knife forums" that are vehemently opposed to the concept of someone actually deploying a cutting tool in a critical situation. Color me naive, but I was truly astounded! More on this at a later date...

Anyway, before I lose more interest than I already have, I'll cut to the chase.

After many a late night and the excellent photography my wife Kelley has lent the effort, we've finally produced a website we're proud enough to
publish. I invite you to check us out by pointing your browsers to www.LifeBlade.net

We also just completed a project near and dear to our heart. It's a graduation present for a SF Operator who is getting his tab this month, and thanks to Ernie Grospitch's help, we were able to make it extra special. So all that said, we're focusing all our attention on our next phase of production: the LifeBlade.

I think we've come up with a pretty efficient design, but since that's ultimately determined by our end user's feedback, we eagerly await said feedback! We'll be sending 15 units, along with a few custom orders, out to heat treat with Farner at BOS HT next week, so we'll have 15 units ready for evaluation within the next couple of weeks. I'll keep anyone interested posted on the progress.

Since this has become far more long winded than I ever intended I'll wrap this up and say that we look so very forward to the friendships and acquaintances that I'm certain we willl form here at BladeForums.com along with any help we might lend.

Be prepared and stay safe!

Welcome to Bladeforums Taylor. That is a really awesome design you have going there. Best wishes for success with the LifeBlade.
Looks like a very natural and utilitarian design.

Rev - Thanks so much for the welcome, the well wishes and positive feedback. It's funny how life's curve balls can sometimes turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to you. It's been great getting up every morning for the past year, excited about my 25 second commute to work. :D

Scotch - It's always a pleasure to hear that our work has caught an appreciative eye! Shoot me a line and let me know which one you like best and I'll make you an offer you can't refuse.;)

Be prepared and stay safe!

Welcome to BFC!

Those are some very cool models you have there! The life blade is a very neat design:thumbsup:

Derek - Thanks for the welcome! I'm glad to be here. Word on the street is that Michigan winters are a bit more brisk than in GA.

Dinozzo - I really appreciate the feedback. I'm looking very much forward to getting a few models in circulation so some real world evaluation can begin.

I am also relatively new here, but even I can tell those designs are very attractive. I have bookmarked your sight and will check in time to time. Hopefully you will have some folders soon.

Very nice designs! i really like the overall look of the wharning. i think if you made a folding version of it with a conventional grind, you would have a very popular design on your hands! personally, i'm not a huge fan of chisel grinds but i know some people are and for a sd blade, its totally fine. my advice for the folder would be to go with a conventional v grind....maybe full flat or high hollow? i think it will appel to more people that way. either way, the designs are excellent... very practical. if the folder follows in suit, it'll be a killer blade.

Dang that wharning is SEXY! Might have to get one some time in the future.

Ono - Thank you kindly and you got it Bud!

Dennis - I really appreciate the kind words, sir. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. It's truly what our business relies on.

bdt - I'll definitely keep you posted on the development of our folder design and thanks a bunch for the kind compliments.

DrOpPoInT1110 - I hear you loud and clear on the choice of grind. I agree that a "V" grind makes for a far more flexible knife, especially when it comes to an EDC folder. We are definitely headed in that direction. Thank you for the compliments and feedback!

xmtgx - Thanks a bunch! I love when a design evokes that kind of reaction. You know where to find us, so please don't hesitate to let us know if we can serve your edged tool needs at any point in the future.

Thanks to everyone that has contacted me via PM and expressed interest. I just came in from the shop, but will be sitting back down to reply to messages as soon as I get some supper in me.

Be prepared and stay safe!
