I have been having a lot of fun working on some period knives which is a nice diversion from the hunters, choppers and bowies that I have been making for the past 25 years. This one is forged from 1/4 inch 5160 with some texture added along the spine to give it a blacksmith look. The handle is curly hard maple with a pewter-like bolster. I made the scabbard from veggie tanned leather stitched with rawhide. Overall length is slightly under 13 inches.
Thanks for looking guys, I really enjoyed making this one.

Very Nice Gerry. Have you been hanging around CRex? He is one of the few I know that can pull off poured pewter bolsters. I have tried it a couple of time with mixed results.

Great Job my friend.

I met CRex at a hammer-in last fall but he didn't share any secrets about pouring pewter with me. I used wheel weights and it worked the first time; give it a try.

Love the bolster and your great handle shaping for that long blade. One of my favorites of yours.
