Long Shot Question LG?

We forgot an axe one camping so stopped by Canadian Tire and picked up a inexpensive one, I seem to remember Garant, but there is no name stamped on the handle. But it does have LG well stamped on the head. Googling LG head stamp brought up an old post here with the same question, and no answer as to what company was LG. Someone said Garant only assembled axes, buying heads. Canadian pattern and what I'm guessing as a all purpose profile. The handle BTW was a grade 2 or 3.

Makes sense ! Isn't there a Korean appliance company with those initials ? with something of a questionable reputation ?
