I've got an idea, and I need a bit of help from The Porch. I realize it may be a long shot, however.

Here's what I'm looking for: someone who owns a Case Tiny Trapper with the wharncliffe secondary and a set of calipers. I'd like to know the thickness of the blade, at the tang, of the wharncliffe blade.

What say ye, Porch: can you help a poor fool with a dream out?

Looks like 1.8 millimeters.

So, to expound on my request:

I want very badly for a bare head, ebony-clad, full-sized-wharncliffe secondary-bladed Peanut. Instead of holding out hope that Case would make one, I wondered if I could have one fashioned for me. The Tiny Trapper with wharncliffe secondary is the closest I'll be able to find for a suitable transplant. I just measured the secondary tang thickness on 5 of my Peanuts, and they all came up to 0.065". r8shell r8shell 's measurement of 1.8mm is approx. 0.07". This gives me much hope that I may be able to make this work!

I was wondering if you were thinking of some sort of blade swapping project. :) I guess the tricky part would be fitting the blade to the spring. Bareheaded ebony always sounds good to me, and I sure hope to see some pictures of what you come up with. Good luck!

Why not just have John Lloyd or one of the other custom guys make it for you?
