Long term experience with Nathawut framelock conversions?

I used to be a big Emerson guy, but a number of bad experiences with lock issues turned me off. After getting an Iron Dragon, I find the idea of a framelock Emerson much more appealing.

I'm about to buy a framelock converted CQC-15 done by Nathawut. It looks like it's really well executed, but I was wondering if anyone has had one for an extended period of time and can comment on the overall build and durability.

Thanks! :)

Nick Rossi has had my Nath 7 for 3 years and it's perfect.
I never had any issues except I keep buying more.

First off if you modify your Emerson the EKI Warranty is dust, second Nathawut I am not sure is pimping Emerson's any longer so you should be aware of that tad bit of info. I tried contacting Nath via Facebook 4 or 5 weeks ago, and he never replied. FYI

Nath does great work, probably some of the best as far as Emerson pimping is concerned. I wouldn't worry about the warranty. It will be voided but if you go into the pimp job knowing that it's not that bad. I talked to Nath back in September, he said his books were closed until January or February 2016. You can PM him through the forum then.

I have 2 Nathawut framelock conversions done in 2010. A CQC10 and a Combat Karambit. I use the CQC10 all of the time and have never had an issue. The CQC10 is still rock solid and has great lockup.

But I'm also not worried about the warranty. IMO, it's a knife and if it doesn't work, I'll just use another.

Thanks for the comments guys. For clarification, the knife I purchased already had the conversion done. I'm not worried about the warranty either, the only original part is the blade and the presentation side liner, and I don't imagine I'm going to encounter any issues with those. I will definitely post pictures when it arrives!

His framelock conversions are amazingly well done. He has access to some very high-end equipment that you'd only find in high-volume production outfits.

Yeah I don't know many people with wire EDM machines for their personal use like Nath. It's amazing he hasn't started making his own knives considering he has all of the skills to do it.

The CQC-15 is on its way from Singapore!

I carry this patriot every day & use the hell out of it. Nath did this a few years ago.

It is solid as a rock, I absolutely love the thing.
