ok so on monday off to bootcamp and it just occurred to me that im going to need to store my knives while im gone, normally i inspect them every couple of days, oil them and such. but since im gone what is the best way to store them? any particular environment or temperature? should i wrap them in something? i was thinking just mineral oil and then wrap them in some towels but will that be enough?
most of my knives are stain resistant aus8, san mai ext. but i do have a fair amount of carbon v blades, even the aus8 gets tarnished after a while.
thanks for the help

Try one of the gun metal preservatives. Remington is good, but there are others. All work like the cooking spray, Pam. The stuff initially goes on thin, but evaporates leaving a waxy coat. Seal the surface that way, and you can forget about rust and corrosion.
