I received an Al Mar HD Eagle Friday (my first Al Mar), and when I opened it I was disappointed to find that it has a bit of lock rock, and depending on the answers I receive here I may or may not return it. I liked the slim design, blade shape/length and its weight. obviously I didn't buy it as a "hard use" knife, I just wanted a quality folder that wont take up a lot of real estate in my pocket. so my question is, if I use it as an edc and don't treat it like a ZT or any other overbuilt knife, do you think it will get worse? ive never had a lock back with this "problem" so I have no idea what to expect.

thank you for your time,
Lee D

im happy to report that after disassembling the knife and thoroughly cleaning, lubing and reassembling, there is now ZERO play in all directions. I will say, that despite the fact that the knife was smooth right out of the box, it was full of grit and some sort of grease...go figure LOL

That's good to hear, enjoy your purchase. Always dissappointing to find new knives come out of the box with issues. I myself have had to disassemble more than a few knives from reputable brands because they had issues like late lock up on liner locks and off center blades.
