Back in 2007, when I was single and bill-less, I was able to travel to Africa to hunt. This knife is one I finally built out of critter parts I harvested.

Critique is ALWAYS welcome.

It is a USA made rasp fighter with self harvested impala horn and the sheath is lined with my cape buffalo leather. It has Walrus tusk and satin 440c Stainless furniture.

That's a nice use of materials.

I'm a big fan of the look of file/rasp knives, but have never used one. I wonder how much gunk would get down in the rasp holes if you skinned another critter!

They do fill up with a little gunk for sure. I keep carbon blades seasoned with ballistol. I usually coat the steel with tallow after skinning until I get home then a tooth brush with hot soapy water takes care if it nicely. Then back to a coat of ballistol. They take a bit of maintaining for sure to keep the patina even.

Thanks fellas!

Todd
