LONGER BLADE CAMPANION: Build it and they will come (to buy it).

Why doesn't Camillus consider making and selling a Campanion with a longer blade - say 8 inches? I like the Campanion very much, but would like even better one with a longer blade. Any possibility of seeing one come out in the future? I believe you would sell a mountain of them, if you'd just make them...
Thanks for making great products at prices the average working man can afford.

Sounds interesting, but wouldn't an extended Campanion compete with the Brute?

Heh, good luck with this one. I posted a similar question awhile back, you may want to do a search for it.
I understand the responce given, but I still think it's a missed oportunity.

I do not believe a longer bladed Campanion would compete at all with the Brute, any more than the other large Becker Knives compete against each other. They simply all have different style and shaped blades. I do however believe that a drop point Campanion with a 7-8 inch blade will compete very well with other knives such as the Busse Steel Heart II.

You nailed it volvi! Simpler user designs are popular. The Brute, Magnum, Machax etc all have a niche of their own. The Campanion seems to be the most do-it-all design of the bunch, why not expand on it? I'd love to see a 10" bladed version. 5,7& 10" versions would fill some gaps in current factory offerings, in my opinion. I'm tired of kraton handles, especially on hard use outdoor blades. The larger Campanions would replace many of those and should be more economical than some.
My 2 cents,

What's up? Nobody from Camillus want to address this suggestion of a longer bladed Campanion? How 'bout one w/ a blade 6-8 inches?

Would a 7-inch "Campanion" or "Quartermaster" sort of knife work with the existing Tac-Tool sheath, with the extra room at the tip of the latter looking a little funny with the Campanion but doing no harm?

Gentlemen,
Believe me, we are listening! I just got back in town tonite, and see I better comment.
Pleae understand, we have introduced 5[!] BK&T models this year. We will continue to look into new designs, but we will need some time to do it. Before you REALLY decide you need a new model, check out the MAGNUM CAMP and the MACHAX. I think you may find something you like

Seriously, thanks for the interest, but if I bring up ANOTHER new BK&T model to the engineering staff this year, they will chase me out of the building with sharp prototypes!

Besides, what makes you think we don't have ALOT of new stuff cooking now?
